World Food Day (WFD) at the Centre
World Food Day (WFD) is celebrated every year on 16 October to raise awareness on sustainable food production and to promote solidarity in the struggle against hunger, malnutrition and poverty, while drawing attention to achievements in agricultural development around the world.
Under the global message “Climate is changing. Food and agriculture must too.”, the 2016 WFD is dedicated to the world’s poorest populations who are being hit hardest by climate change, higher temperatures and increasingly frequent weather-related disasters.
To celebrate this important international day, two events will be held on Campus on Monday 17 October 2016 aimed at learning more about sustainable local agriculture:
- An exhibition at the Valentino Bar, where local farmers will showcase their products and explain how food chains actually work.
- A special menu for participants and staff.
