Consultative Workshop on Promoting Youth Employment in Afghanistan
A consultative workshop on “Promoting Youth Employment in Afghanistan” was held in New Delhi from 5 to 9 February 2018.
Organized in close cooperation with the ILO Country Offices for India and Afghanistan, together with the VV Giri National Labour Institute of India, this five-day workshop brought together representatives of ILO constituents in Afghanistan and former participants in the “Promoting Rural Youth Employment in Afghanistan through Entrepreneurship Education and Vocational Training” project .
The main objective of the workshop was to develop an agenda/work plan for the second phase of the project.
Building on the achievements of phase I, the second phase will focus on three areas of intervention: entrepreneurship promotion, women’s empowerment through cooperatives in the agricultural sector and vocational education. In benefiting the young people of Afghanistan, the project aims to maximize the inclusion of vulnerable groups, such as young women, internally displaced persons and returnees.
