The Centre is working with the ILO on fair recruitment
Five videos on raising awareness of fair recruitment practices are now available
These videos are based on the ILO General Principles and Operational Guidelines for Fair Recruitment (adopted in 2016). They provide information on the current and future work of the ILO and other organizations, national legislatures and social partners in promoting and ensuring fair recruitment. The principles and guidelines are derived from several sources, including international labour standards and ILO instruments.
The videos were developed in collaboration with the ILO RE-FRAME project (Global Action to Improve the Recruitment Framework of Labour Migration) , and include:
- General Principles
- General Principles (short version)
- Operational Guidelines for Enterprises
- Operational Guidelines for Governments
- Role of Trade Unions
The videos are available on the ILO’s “Fair recruitment” page at http://www.ilo.org/global/topics/fair-recruitment/lang--en/index.htm and the Centre’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/itciloTV/videos
Last year, the Centre ran a global training course on fair recruitment in conjunction with the RE-FRAME project involving 45 participants from all continents, including RE-FRAME project target countries. The course will be held again in 2018, from 1 to 5 October, and will be delivered in English and Arabic. https://www.itcilo.org/en/areas-of-expertise/labour-migration/establishing-fair-recruitment-processes
