I attended the Centre with a group of Kurdistan Government officials to participate in a tailor–made activity on "Procurement management in the public sector - capacity-building for Kurdistan”.
Kurdistan is an autonomous region in the north of Iraq with a population of about 7 million inhabitants. This training activity had the objective of improving our skills and knowledge on public procurement.
At the Centre, I experienced a very positive way of living: there are people from all over the world, who acquire knowledge, exchange ideas, and share their culture and traditions.
Our group had the opportunity to learn about new trends in public procurement and we are grateful to our trainers for this unique experience and opportunity.
Once back to Kurdistan, we will put this knowledge into practice to develop our public sector procurement.
Personally, I am confident that this is only the beginning of our long-term collaboration with the ITCILO in Turin.
