Interpreting an actuarial report
Region: Africa Year: 2010
To enhance the capabilities of trade union officials involved in the management of social protection systems in Africa, a training workshop on interpreting an actuarial report brought together about 30 participants from 16 African countries. They met in Togo in July 2010.
The workshop enabled participants to set out better their vision of the thorny issues in reforming social security systems, to understand the technical aspects of funding better, and to propose changes in line with the values espoused by the union leadership regarding social security institutions.
Target audience: high-level trade unionists; members of management committees of national social security or pension fund institutions.
Partners: ITUC-Africa; the ILO Regional Office for Africa; the ILO’s QUATRAIN Africa Project.
