Presentación del curso

Employment injury schemes are part of the social security apparatus concerned with workers' insurance in the event of occupational accidents and diseases. Traditionally, they provide for compensation and coverage of the medical and rehabilitation costs of injured and sick workers. Increasingly, the mandate of these schemes has come to include the prevention of occupational risks, and world-wide experience and best practice shows that these schemes can play a very important role in achieving this purpose. By disseminating the experience gained by the ILO and facilitating the sharing of successful innovative strategies, the objective of this course is to strengthen the capacity of employment injury institutions to manage occupational accidents and diseases and promote preventive and proactive approaches to OSH.
