Application and cancellation

Understanding processes, costs, and refunds

All the Centre's regular courses are open to candidates through grants or individual sources of funding. These candidates should send their applications directly to the ITCILO.

Workers' Activities and Employers' Activities training courses are available by invitation only. Additional candidates may be accepted if they pay a fee and are approved by the Secretary of the Workers' Group or Employers' Group of the ILO Governing Body.

The application procedure allows the Centre to match participants' needs to training activities. It is important to specify language skills, job experience, and academic background.

 To apply for a course:

  • Note the details of the course, such as title, course number, and dates.
  • Send an email to the team that created the course or complete the online registration form, if available.

Successful candidates will be notified by email.

Contact recruitment@itcilo.org with any questions about the Centre and training courses.

Price

The total price of a training activity is calculated through tuition and subsistence costs. Costs are subject to change.

Tuition costs cover course preparation, implementation and evaluation, training materials and books, and the use of facilities and support services. For face-to-face courses, tuition also covers emergency medical insurance and study tours.

Subsistence costs cover full board and lodging on campus, laundry services (for courses longer than one week), local study visits, and a supplement for additional travel and living expenses during local study visits. For courses outside Turin, these costs cover full board and lodging, insurance, and incidentals, depending on the available facilities.

Travel

The listed costs do not include the cost of travel between the participant's home country and the course venue.

Participants are responsible for holding a valid passport and obtaining the appropriate visa for the country in which the course is held, for any country in which a transit or stopover to or from the course venue is required, and for all countries in which study tours are scheduled as part of the programme.

The cost of the visa, airport taxes, internal travel in the participant's home country, and unauthorized stopovers is not covered by the Centre.

Payment, cancellation, and refunds for all standard courses

Sponsoring institutions and self-paying participants are strongly encouraged to pay participation fees one month prior to the start date of a course to secure enrollment and the timely issuance of visas. Individual participation fees for courses are payable at enrollment time. Payment should be received at least 14 days prior to the start date of the course. The amount due is payable in full and all related bank charges, such as bank of origin, correspondent bank, and recipient bank, shall be entirely borne by the participant or the sponsoring institution(s).

A participant who wishes to cancel may substitute their enrollment with another participant. However, they must notify the Centre, in writing, at least 14 days prior to the start date of the course.

Cancellation of participation in standard courses will result in the following penalties:

  • 14 days or more prior to the start date of the course: No penalty, 100% refund of amount paid less applicable bank charges
  • 8 to 13 days prior to the start date of the course: Penalty of 50%, refund of 50% of amount paid less applicable bank charges
  • 7 days or less prior to the start date of the course: Penalty of 100%, no refund of amount paid
