The main objective of the workshop is to prepare the participants to play an active role in planning and implementing E-Procurement projects in their organizations and in the public sector in general. Believing that the real benefit of e-procurement lies not in the use of technology per se, E-Procurement can contribute significantly to the process of the transformation towards a cleaner, more cost-effective government, and it can enhance the speed and efficiency of public procurement by streamlining processes, lowering costs, and facilitating document retrieval and record-keeping.
It addresses the key aspects and potential benefits of e-procurement by introdusing the legislative framework, including the UNCITRAL model laws for e-commerce and e-signature.
