It will offer a platform for dialogue for peer-to-peer exchange between IPAs, supported by international specialists experienced in trade, investment and development.

How will the masterclasses be conducted?

The masterclasses will be conducted online through webinars. Participants will have access to the ITCILO ecampus providing for reference material and opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas via discussion forums linked to each topic.

What topics will this course cover?

The masterclasses will look into the following topics

  • COVID 19 and the world of work:
  • Responsible business conduct and enterprises
  • Innovation and technology
  • How to harness the private sector in the response to COVID-19
  • Experience and knowledge sharing by IPAs
What will I be able to do?

Participants are prepared to advise their IPAs on specific ways to attract investment, while keeping in mind the SDGs.

  • Apply development frameworks for decent work to investment facilitation
  • Implement a system of aftercare services and investment promotion measures
  • Create an enabling environment to ensure that FDI leads to social and economic progress

This course is a joint activity between the ILO and WAIPA to provide guidance and support to IPAs on attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) that leads to the creation of quality jobs and decent work, sustainable enterprises and inclusive economic growth. There is a special focus on developing countries.
