Trade union training on social security

Trade union training on social security

11 Novembro–6 Dezembro 2019
The course is available in English, Français, Español

This course aims to build the capacities of trade-union representatives from selected countries to increase the coverage and effectiveness of social protection systems, with a view to enhancing the equity, resilience and opportunity functions of such systems within the context of Agenda 2030 (SDGs). It is intended to strengthen trade unions' capacity to advocate for the extension of social protection coverage to all members of society through judicious application of the ILO Social Security (Minimum Standard) Convention, 1952 (No. 102) and Social Protection Floors Recommendation, 2012 (No. 202), thus addressing the problems of poverty, inequality and social exclusion engendered by globalization as governed by neo-liberal policies. It is hoped that the course will enable trade-union leaders and members to play a constructive and role in the reform of existing social security schemes.
