Digital labour platforms are rapidly transforming how work is organized, facilitated, accessed and regulated. In June 2026, the International Labour Conference adopted Convention No. 193, establishing the first international labour standard dedicated to the platform economy. How can C193 help governments and social partners develop effective policy responses?

The training programme aims at increasing the knowledge on the opportunities and challenges of the platform work, including the situation in law and practice. More specifically, the five-day learning programme intends to provide a comprehensive overview of the : - impact of the platform economy on job creation; - existing regulatory framework and gaps relating to the different dimensions of decent work; and good practices in relation to labour protection for platform workers.

Representatives of Governments (Ministries of Labour, Social Policies and Social Security). ¿¿ Limited fellowships available for eligible candidates.

- The diversity of models in the platform economy
- Opportunities and challenges for decent work in the platform economy;
- Emerging practices in regulating platform work;
- Social dialogue in promoting decent work in the platform economy.

How is the event organized?
The face-to-face training course will be participatory and will be structured in a way to facilitate the presentation and analysis of all relevant aspects in law and practice related to platform work.
National experiences and case studies will be at the core of the knowledge sharing.
