Prof. Ducas is Professor of Mathematical Cryptology at Leiden University and Researcher at CWI, Amsterdam, tenured in the Cryptology Group. He is a co-designer of the two new post-quantum cryptography (PQC) primary standards ML-KEM and ML-DSA recently selected by NIST and currently being globally deployed.
Prof. Ducas specialized in the theory, practice standards, cryptanalysis of cryptology, with a particular focus on lattice-based cryptographic systems. He also explores number theory and geometry of numbers for applications in cryptography, quantum and concrete cryptanalysis (new algorithms, tweaks for practice, security estimates), optimizing cryptographic designs (new algorithms, transfer from theory to practice, standardization), open-source implementation (code and data sharing, strengthening knowledge, accelerating discoveries). He also sits in the editorial board of the Journal of Mathematical Cryptology. He has made key contribution on the cryptographic design and cryptanalysis.
