What is it?

DIMAPPP aims to reform Bangladesh’s Public Procurement System, thus improving efficiency, transparency and accountability. The overall purpose is to improve the performance of the public procurement function and enhance the capacity for implementation and monitoring of development programmes and projects. The project is funded with a loan from the World Bank.

ITCILO is managing the Capacity Development and Professionalization component on behalf of the Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU).

How does it work?

The initiative is rooted in five key areas:

  • Improving Procurement Management of Selected Public Sector Agencies
  • Procurement Professionalization/Accreditation Program
  • Comprehensive Procurement Training Program
  • Further Policy Reforms
  • Improvement of the Sustainability of the Engineering Staff College Bangladesh (ESCB)

The ITCILO’s main goal is to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability of Bangladesh’s Public Procurement System.

Free course

The DIMAPPP-CDP project offers a free introductory course to public procurement. This fully-online MOOC explores the basics of the modern public procurement system in Bangladesh. Participants receive a certificate of achievement.
