Mohammed Mwamadzingo

Before joining the ITCILO on 1 July 2022, Mohammed Mwamadzingo worked with the Bureau for Workers’ Activities of the International Labour Organization (popularly known as ACTRAV) from October 1997 to June 2022.  He has been based in various duty stations in Africa (Abidjan, Addis Ababa, Harare, Pretoria and at Headquarters in Geneva) and holding different portfolios including Regional Specialist on Workers' Education, Senior Economist, and the Regional Desk Officer for Africa.

Prior joining the ILO, he worked as a lecture in economics at the University of Nairobi in Kenya, for nine years.  Mwamadzingo is an economist by training and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Sussex in 1995.
