11 August – 5 September 2025

Online (eCampus) – 4 weeks

Workers are often sidelined in the trade and investment agreements that affect their lives. This course provides an opportunity to transform this context. From August 11 to September 5, 2025, the ITCILO-ACTRAV will deliver a transformative four-week online course that equips trade unions with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to advance living wages, social justice, and the New Social Contract in trade and investment policies and agreements in Africa. Participants will explore the ILO framework on living wages, social dialogue, and collective bargaining, and analyze how these can be advanced in trade and investment agreements in Africa, with special reference to the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). Through interactive modules, workers’ representatives will enhance their critical thinking, organizing, and advocacy skills, and develop a trade union-led monitoring and accountability framework to advance living wages and social dialogue, engage policymakers, and lead cross-border collaboration and action in trade and investment agreements in Africa.
