Everyone has the right to be free from violence and harassment, including gender-based violence, while at work. At the 108th session of the International Labour Conference in 2019, the ILO adopted a new Convention and Recommendation on Violence and Harassment in the World of Work. While the Convention requires governments to take measures to protect workers, especially women, from violence and harassment, the Recommendation provides practical guidance on how governments can bring these changes about. This course aims to improve the capacity of trade unions in Eastern Europe and Central Asia to understand and use the new international labour standards. Participants will develop the ability to utilize the content of the new Convention 190 and its Recommendation 206 as guidelines for sub-regional and national actions aimed at addressing harassment and violence in the world of work.
