However moving forward is not without challenges. Inequalities and discrimination may vary from place to place, however the disparity between women and men is clear. This online journey will help learners to understand gender cross-cutting issues in the world of work and provide strategic models and tools for concerted actions. This online learning will propose ways to integrate a gender approach into your work, your specific operational fields and present gender tools and resources.

Understand your gender-equality context by scanning key international gender-equality frameworks and the ILO Decent Work Agenda. Use tools for analysing gender issues in various settings, develop your gender planning, and overcome various forms of resistance using proven strategies. The course draws mainly on existing, well-tested ITCILO training packages. Some modules have been developed anew, building on the materials produced and experience gained during in-house training activities.Outside expertise and documents will also be drawn on.

This online course will be of particular interest to policymakers and national and local public-service staff; employers and workers wishing to ensure an equitable process in their organization; regional and international development agencies; civil society representatives interested in doing advocacy work and raising awareness of gender issues; individuals interested in mainstreaming the gender approach and working in the field of gender equality.

What topics does this course cover?

The online learning we will cover the basic concepts and key international gender equality frameworks as well as the ILO decent work agenda.  Wet will provide tools to analyse gender issues in various settings and the use of gender planning in all facet of your work.  We will review the various forms of resistances and strategies to overcome them.  This online learning draws mainly on existing, well-tested ITCILO training packages. Some modules have been developed anew, from the materials and experience used during in-house training activities. Outside expertise and documents will also be used.

The full gender training curriculum lasts approximately 20 hours over 5 weeks.

What will I learn?

This course will provide learners with an adaptable set of training and information tools among which participants can choose tools and modules most relevant to him/her to bring gender equality concerns into the mainstream of labour-related development activities.

Become fluent with the gender equality by understanding:

  • the key issues on gender equality in the world of work

Analyse and plan:

  • to implement gender analysis in a country context
  • to run organizational assessments
