This course will provide practical guidance to inspectorates on how to recognize and act upon potential violations of fundamental principles and rights at work, namely how to plan, prepare and conduct interventions at workplace level to effectively supervise compliance with legislation covering the four categories of rights at work. It will highlight recent developments in the area of legislation and policy approaches, as well as relevant national experiences, and will consider the broader role of labour inspection in the application and promotion of international labour standards.
The course is intended for but not limited to labour inspectorate staff; labour inspectors at general, specialized and management levels; labour administration staff; other actors supporting the promotion and realization of fundamental principles and rights at work through compliance.
