Far from being mere beneficiaries of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, young people are recognized as having been among the architects of its development, and should continue to be engaged in the frameworks and processes that support its implementation, follow-up and review. With its disproportionate effects on young people, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated inequalities along already existing divides, and now risks reducing the productive potential of an entire generation. As the Decade of Action calls for an acceleration of sustainable solutions to the world's biggest challenges, it is important that youth continue to be involved in their design and implementation. As the training arm of the International Labour Organization, the ITCILO invites participants to the Summer 2021 edition of its Global Youth Forum - an experiential learning platform putting youth at the forefront of efforts to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and achieve its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Key features: a core faculty of UN international development practitioners and youth ambassadors, young entrepreneurs, and experts from the private sector, international and civil society organizations, each working to advance the SDGs; experiential learning activities in an environment conducive to the sharing of ideas, peer learning and networking; a group project enabling participants to directly apply the skills and knowledge acquired over the course of the Forum; course electives structured around the three pillars of sustainable development (Environmental Sustainability Track, Social Sustainability Track and Economic Sustainability Track), which participants select depending on their primary interest; leadership and "career labs" fostering career and soft-skills development; an ITCILO Certificate of Achievement upon completion of key course activities.
