This course provides an opportunity for participants to learn about a range of innovative approaches, tools and methods for promoting decent work in the rural economy in the framework of a human-centered recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.

What will I learn?
  • Familiarize with the concept of decent work in the rural economy in the changing world of work, in order to adapt it to their own national and local contexts;
  • Attribute the roles of policy makers - including workers’ and employers’ organizations - required for promoting an integrated and inclusive rural development in a building back better perspective;
  • Recognize the importance of considering just transition in the promotion of decent work in the rural economy in the framework of a human-centered recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.

How is the course organized?

The course is divided into three modules:

Module 1 - Decent work in the rural economy: a priority agenda;

Module 2 - Policies for decent work in the rural economy;

Module 3 - A just transition towards a resilient and sustainable rural economy.

Participants need to take a short Knowledge Assessment Test before and after completing the three modules. The Certificate of Participation will automatically unlock once the Knowledge Assessment Tests and all the three modules are completed.
