Directors and other speakers at a conference

As part of the celebrations for the ILO centenary, Mr Casale, Deputy Director of the ITCILO and Director of the Turin School of Development, participated in an event organized by the Istituto per la Memoria e la Cultura del Lavoro (ISMEL) at the University of Turin last Friday. Mr Casale spoke about the creation of the ILO and the adoption of the first labour standards.

This conference was the first of three events dealing with labour standards and workers’ participation. The focus was on the period following the First World War, when the history of labour relations was marked by a number of key events (the establishment of the ILO, the Weimar Republic, the adoption of fundamental laws at national level).
