Apresentação do curso

The world needs more responsive trade union organisations with solid influence and knowledge to embrace the 2030 development Agenda and shape its implementation at all levels, ensuring decent work priorities and outcomes.

This self-guided course aims to raise the interest of trade unions on matters related to UN processes, SDGs, DWCPs, etc. It offers trade unions an alternative way of learning about this complex topic while reinforcing the capacities of unions.

What will I learn?

The open course covers three interactive, interconnected modules:

  1. Key elements of the UN reforms and the ILO decent work agenda,
  2. Trade unions’ integration on Decent Work priorities into the UN Cooperation Framework, and
  3. Frameworks for effective trade union responses to the COVID-19 crisis.

Each module comprises several sub-chapters, which can be completed within 15 minutes or less.

What will I be able to do?

By completing this self-guided learning journey, learners will come out with clarity and a better understanding of the UN Reforms and Decent Work Country Programmes (DWCPs) and the impact of Covid-19 on Agenda 2030. Unions as learners will be able to take on a more assertive role in shaping national, sub-regional, and regional policies for a sustainable, inclusive, resilient recovery and decent work for all.

How is the course organized?

Participants will work through all three modules without the need for a tutor.

You will need to take a pre-knowledge assessment test at the beginning of this learning journey. Completing this test will allow you to proceed with the modules one at a time. As you finish each module, the next module will become available.

There are three interconnected modules in this programme: (1) Key elements of the UN reforms and the ILO decent work agenda, (2) Trade unions’ integration on Decent Work priorities into the UN Cooperation Framework, and (3) Frameworks for effective trade union responses to the COVID-19 crisis.

The three interactive modules should be completed consequently. You can progress to the next module only after completing the previous module. Some parts have accompanying audio, which plays as you scroll down. At the end of each module is a five-minute quiz, which you need to complete.

A post-knowledge assessment test (post-KAT) is available at the end of the three modules. Taking this post-KAT will measure the knowledge you acquired and retained from the course. It will also help ITCILO in creating future learning journeys for workers.

Why should I join?

Completing the course will give you an advantage, take action, and contribute to achieving the SDGs and Decent Work Country Programmes.
