Vera dos Santos Costa

The Programme Manager for the Workers' Activities (ACTRAV) at the International Training Center of the International Labour Organisation (ITCILO), Vera dos Santos Costa, is a political scientist who is very committed in workers’ movement. She has created many education and communication programmes on capacity building and economic and social issues. Vera uses her experience in capacity building of workers to contribute to the ITCILO ACTRAV education objectives and wider influence. Vera has a Bachelor degree in Political Science, a Master’s in Human Resources Management and Organisational Dynamics, and holds a Teaching degree in Political, Economic and Social Sciences. After a career of twenty years as International and European Affairs Secretary in a Belgian trade union, Vera was for six years the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI) Director of the Education Department. An innovative learning and training driven workers’ education manager with social justice as main objective.
