On 15 December 2025, during the ITCILO Alumni Network Event "Humanity in the Digital Era, Skills, Solidarity and Social Impact", the Centre officially unveiled the Voices of Impact: ITCILO Alumni Reflections, a unique collection celebrating the lived experiences, achievements, and global footprint of our Alumni community.

The pages of this publication bring together a collection of powerful testimonials shared by ITCILO Alumni for the launch of the ITCILO Alumni Platform in 2024. Each reflection captures a unique journey, a personal transformation, and a commitment to shaping the world of work.

Their words - diverse, honest, and deeply inspiring, reflect the heartbeat of our community. To honour every voice and the richness of our global network, these stories now stand together in a single publication unveiled for the first time, offering a powerful snapshot of impact across sectors and regions.

A celebration of human stories

The ITCILO has long been associated with high-quality training and innovation in learning. Yet Voices of Impact reveals something deeper and more personal: it highlights the lived experiences behind the learning. These stories show how skills grow into confidence, how connections evolve into collaboration, and how individual journeys contribute to stronger institutions and more inclusive communities. They remind us that real transformation happens through people, their aspirations, their resilience, and their commitment to shaping a better world of work.

A global human community united by purpose

Across its pages, alumni share how their ITCILO learning journeys shaped their careers, strengthened their institutions, and empowered them to drive change in labour markets and communities worldwide. Their reflections reveal a community connected not only by shared training experiences, but by a shared commitment to advancing social justice, strengthening decent work, and fostering inclusive development in every corner of the globe.

From its beginnings in 1964, the ITCILO has grown into a global beacon of education and training. It has welcomed thousands of participants from all corners of the world, each bringing their unique perspectives and experiences, enriching our community.

The ITCILO also gave me a community. I’ve made lifelong friends from different countries who were once just classmates and also meet mentors who continue to inspire and guide me.

These submissions span continents and professions, reflecting the extraordinary diversity of the ITCILO Alumni Network. Together, they paint a powerful mosaic of transformation, solidarity, and lifelong connection, showcasing how individual stories, when brought together, create a collective force for change. Each voice adds depth, perspective, and meaning to a global movement that continues to grow in reach and impact.

Learning that inspires action

The publication highlights how ITCILO training has translated into real impact on the ground. Alumni demonstrate how knowledge gained through the Centre has strengthened institutions, informed policies, and improved working lives. Their stories show learning put into practice, skills driving innovation, insights shaping decisions, and new perspectives enabling meaningful change. Together, they illustrate how ITCILO training empowers individuals and organisations to act with purpose and create lasting impact.

A growing global network

When these testimonials were first submitted, the ITCILO Alumni Platform had only just been launched, opening a new chapter of connection and collaboration. Many alumni expressed their enthusiasm to reconnect with peers, exchange ideas, and remain engaged in a global community committed to advancing decent work. Their reflections capture a renewed sense of belonging and purpose, an eagerness not only to stay connected, but to actively contribute to a vibrant network that continues to grow in reach and impact.

Continuing the story together

On 15 December, as we present this publication to our Alumni network for the first time, these reflections take on new meaning. They serve not only as memories of an important milestone, but also as building blocks for the future of our growing community.

This publication is more than a compilation. It is a tribute to a global network of changemakers who continue to shape the world of work.

As we celebrate its official launch during the Alumni Event, one message resonates across all testimonials:

Learning changes people. People change the world.

With Voices of Impact now joining the ITCILO Alumni Platform, the story of this community enters a new chapter—one grounded in shared knowledge, strengthened by solidarity, and driven by collective impact.
