• Learn about international labour standards relating to labour inspection as well as technical guidelines, methodologies and tools for labour inspectors;
• Join and interact with other participants, international experts, guest speakers and trainers on tools, campaigns, best practices and experiences to strengthen the institutional capacity of labour inspectorates;
• Put your learning into practice through participative methodology applied throughout the course when being involved in interactive sessions, study visits, exchanges with peer colleagues and simulation exercises;
• Apply your acquired knowledge upon return by starting to brainstorm during the course on how to advance and reinforce the labour inspectors’ capacities in your country;
• Receive your ITCILO Certificate of Achievement or Participation at the end of the workshop.

The course consists of 60 hours of learning in total, as follows:

• Pre-course (6 hours): Access to the online eCampus platform of the ITCILO; Pre-course activities and self-guided learning via the eCampus platform, including a pre-course assessment.
• Residential (53 hours): 10 days of intensive and interactive training at the ITCILO in Turin including assessment at the end of the learning journey.
• Post-course (1 hour): Post-course activities via the eCampus platform, including a post-course assessment; all the resources and course materials remain accessible on the eCampus platform after completion of the course.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Assess the performance of your labour inspection system keeping in mind the principles, functions and main characteristics of the inspection function along with the roles and responsibilities as labour inspectors according to the ILO’s international labour standards and guidelines
• Identify the most relevant tools, resources, methodologies and partners, which could be useful to perform your duties
• Evaluate how your labour inspection can be further strengthened and reinforced relying on the ILO guidelines for the inspection of the working conditions, the employment relationships, occupational safety and health and the vulnerable groups of workers
   

Fees: For the 2026 edition of the course, the applicable fees were €2,695 for tuition and €1,620 for subsistence, amounting to a total of €4,315. The fees for the 2027 edition will be reviewed and are expected to be confirmed around October 2026.
