Introduction to the course

The Digital Governance Academy is a comprehensive capacity-building programme developed under ITCILO's Social Protection, Governance and Tripartism (SPGT) umbrella. It equips institutional leaders, senior policymakers, and technical specialists working in key areas of public governance-notably occupational safety and health (OSH), labour inspection, social protection, social dialogue, and labour migration-with the strategic foresight and technical knowledge to harness digital transformation for improved governance and service delivery. The Academy is structured as a transversal, multi-disciplinary initiative with a wide range of electives offering a tailored learning journey for practitioners in a Digital Era. Participants will explore the institutional, legal, and technological dimensions of digital transformation, including data governance, leveraging artificial intelligence, leading automation processes, and addressing cybersecurity and privacy concerns. Successful participants will obtain a Certificate of Achievement.

The Digital Governance Academy welcomes professionals engaged in diverse domains of public policy and governance-particularly in areas such as occupational safety and health (OSH), labour inspection, social protection, social dialogue, and labour migration. Ideal participants include government officials, digital transformation leads, representatives of social partners, IT specialists in public service delivery, and professionals from international organizations and development agencies. The course is designed for those committed to advancing inclusive, transparent, and tech-enabled governance through the responsible adoption of digital tools and strategies.
