Introduction to the course

Consulting services are essential to the success of investment programmes and projects delivery. They support key decisions, provide technical expertise, strengthen implementation capacity, and help ensure that public funds are used effectively. However, achieving value for money through consulting services is not a simple task: it depends on selecting the right expertise, defining clear deliverables, managing contracts strategically and performance proactively. This Face-to-Face professional training programme will guide you into a practical learning journey throughout all key stages of the procurement cycle and contract management of consulting services. Participants will explore how to plan strategically procurement activities, design robust Terms of Reference, choose appropriate selection methods, define evaluation criteria, assess proposals, and manage consultancy contracts efficiently and transparently, in line with recognized international practices. A special focus is on consulting services for works. Indeed, in works and infrastructure projects, consulting services play a critical role in ensuring that technical solutions are appropriate, risks are managed, quality standards are respected, and contracts are implemented effectively. How would you manage engineers as consultants in assignments such as feasibility studies, design, supervision, contract administration, project management, and others? All these assignments require not only strong procurement skills, but also a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities during construction, coordination with contractors, and effective performance monitoring to ensure quality outcomes. Are you ready to strengthen your expertise in the procurement and contract management of consulting services, including works-related assignments, where engineering consultants play a decisive role in achieving quality results?
