Promoting responsible business conduct (RBC) among companies is an essential part of building economic growth and performance upon the respect and promotion of Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (FPRW). Business that fosters RBC throughout their operations is business that remains competitive, successful, and sustainable in the long run. RBC is more than philanthropic or charitable actions that companies undertake outside their core business to give back to the communities. RBC is intrinsic to how operations are run, and it is part or the strategy to maximize the positive impact of enterprise operations, both from a business and community perspective. RBC becomes even more salient when companies operate across multiple countries and jurisdictions, and when they engage with multiple business partners in supply chains. Ensuring a consistent approach to RBC and to the respect of FPRW throughout companies' operations will facilitate compliance with key labor laws in most countries.
