Labour inspection systems around the world are undergoing rapid transformation as new technologies reshape how compliance with labour standards is monitored and enforced. Digital tools such as predictive analytics, mobile inspection applications, geospatial dashboards, and integrated case management platforms are increasingly enabling inspectorates to plan strategically, target risks more effectively, and improve follow-up with workers and employers. Harnessing these innovations is essential to strengthen accountability, reduce administrative burdens, and ensure that inspection services remain responsive to the evolving world of work. This course offers a unique opportunity for labour inspectors and related stakeholders to build handson skills in the use of digital solutions for workplace compliance. Through a blended format combining online learning with a residential workshop in Turin, participants will explore the full spectrum of digital transformation in labour inspection-from data-informed planning and mobile-enabled field operations to real-time case management and feedback systems. Special attention will be given to data protection, cybersecurity, and ethical considerations in the deployment of new technologies By the end of the programme, participants will be better equipped to integrate digital approaches into their daily inspection practices and institutional strategies, enhancing transparency, efficiency, and collaboration across labour administration systems. This course is part of a Diploma programme. To achieve the Diploma, successful candidates must complete four courses within a five-year period and undertake a capstone assessment.
