Around the world, millions of workers are paid wages that are insufficient to cover their basic needs. Well-designed and effective wage policies can help to ensure "a minimum wage to all employed and in need of such protection", while having the potential for positive effects on labour productivity - both at the enterprise level and at the aggregate economy-wide level. Poorly designed, by contrast, they can put workers' well-being at risk, undermine effective implementation, and risk encouraging informality. In this course, you will learn how to design minimum wages, collective bargaining, equal pay to ensure adequate and effective protection at work for all, and a fair distribution of productivity growth. Join this course if you are motivated to address these issues and create a future of work with less inequality.
