Where do you begin when designing a policy to combat violence and harassment in the workplace? What are the key factors when aiming to align with the principles enshrined in ILO Convention No. 190 and Recommendation No. 206? How do you turn policy into practice: assessing and managing risks, setting up committees, investigating complaints, training staff, supporting victims, analysing data and so on? What are the existing good practices and success stories? This hands-on e-workshop aims to provide participants with practical knowledge and tools for action.
- Human Resources Officers and Diversity & Inclusions representatives of companies, looking to mainstream V&H concerns in their operations. - Legal and Compliance Professionals responsible for ensuring organizational adherence to legal and compliance standards related to workplace conduct. - Government Officials and Policymakers involved in shaping and implementing labour-related policies at the governmental level. - OSH supervisors and technical staff responsible for OSH within enterprises. - Employers' and workers' organizations looking to equip themselves to provide practical guidance to their affiliates; - Workers and workers' representatives at the level of organizations and enterprises.
In this learning journey you will explore and assess key ingredients for a workplace policy on violence and harassment that is aligned with the new ILO instruments, and be guided to use them to design a policy that works for you and your organization.
By working on actual policy examples from real organizations, together we will assess gaps with regard to C190 alignment section by section, review and compare related options and approaches as well as their implications, advantages and disadvantages. Eventually, your task will be able to select the ones that best adapt to your objectives and work context.

Through design-oriented participatory activities, you will come out of this training with a recipe for a policy tool that works in your context.
Live sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays (Timing will be adjusted as much as possible to applicants’ time zones and will be communicated 1 week before launch). Every week you will be expected to work a little bit on your personal project, which you will then finalize in week 4 as your final assignment.
