The publications below are aimed at judges, lawyers working in the field of labour law, legal practitioners acting for employers’ and workers’ organizations and labour law professors and trainers. They are used in the ITCILO courses targeting labour law professionals to guide  them to explore opportunities for using international labour law in domestic law.

 

International Labour Law and Domestic Law: A training manual for judges, lawyers and legal educators

This manual examines when and how judges and lawyers can use international labour law. It specifically examines the sources of international labour and the international labour standards (ILS) system; the judicial use of international labour law; the content of ILS on specific subjects and their interest for judges and legal practitioners. This last part covers freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, equality of opportunity and treatment in employment and occupation, termination of employment at the initiative of the employer. The manual is also a training tool on the use of international labour law in domestic law.
