A Foundations Course for Trainers
Artificial intelligence is no longer a technology of the future. It is rapidly becoming part of everyday business operations.
For SMEs, the challenge is not whether to embrace digital transformation, but how to do so in ways that improve productivity, strengthen competitiveness, and create better workplaces.
This self-paced online course equips trainers participating in the Productivity Ecosystems for Decent Work Programme with a solid understanding of AI fundamentals, SME digitalisation pathways, ERP systems, and human-centred approaches to technology adoption. Participants will develop the capacity to help SMEs identify digital opportunities, assess organisational readiness, manage risks, and implement practical AI solutions that promote decent work, improve productivity, and foster inclusive workplaces.
The course has been developed as part of the Productivity Ecosystems for Decent Work Programme, funded by the State Secretariat for Economic and Social Affairs (SECO) and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD).
The course consists of seven self-paced online sessions (approximately 8 hours) designed to build participants' knowledge progressively, from foundational AI concepts to practical applications for SMEs.
Gain the knowledge and confidence to help SMEs harness the potential of AI and digital technologies. Through practical examples and real-world applications, this course will strengthen your ability to advise enterprises on human-centred digital transformation that improves productivity, competitiveness, and working conditions.
