The Centre obtained its initial ISO/IEC 27001 certification for the Information Security Management System (ISMS) in 2016. The certification was subsequently renewed in 2019 and 2022. In 2025, on the occasion of the latest renewal, the Centre achieved compliance with the most recent iteration of the standard, ISO/IEC 27001:2022.
The ISO 27001 is the best-known standard providing a comprehensive framework for ISMS. It sets specific management processes that must be put in place to control risks linked to information systems, and ensures integrity and confidentiality of information.
To obtain the initial certification, the Centre implemented the required controls and underwent a formal audit, carried out by Bureau Veritas, a well-known international accreditation body.
To maintain the certification during its periodical revision, the Centre is constantly improving and keeping up-to-date its IT systems.
Thus, the certification is a tangible proof of the credibility and trustworthiness of the Centre in terms of information security management.
Furthermore, the Centre aligns itself to the best practices in IT Services Management demonstrated by the fact that the majority of the ICTS staff is certified for ITIL ( the pre-eminent framework for managing IT service delivery) and Prince2 Project Management ( international methodology for project management).
