Board of the International Training Centre of the ILO meets virtually for 83rd Session

On 27 October 2020, for the first time in its history, the Board of the ITCILO will meet virtually.

The Board is responsible for the general management of the Centre. The final report of the meeting is submitted to the Governing Body of the ILO.

Under the Statute of the Centre, the Board plays an important governance and oversight role. The items on the agenda of the 83rd Session include: 

  • Comments on the Implementation Report for 2018-19
  • The evolution of the service portfolio of the Centre post-COVID
  • A discussion on a paper on the future direction of the ITCILO

Reports from the Internal Auditor and External Auditor will also be considered.

The Board is composed of 24 members appointed by the Governing Body of the ILO: 12 government representatives from Germany, Barbados, China, Ivory Coast, United States, France, India, Japan, Mauritania, Paraguay, Romania and Senegal; six employers' representatives and six workers' representatives. The Italian Government, the Region of Piedmont, the City of Turin, and the Unione Industriale of Turin are also represented on the Board. The Chairperson of the Board is the Director-General of the ILO, Guy Ryder.
