The Summer University features plenary sessions, elective course tracks and envisioning sessions structured around topics including:

• Leveraging South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) Initiatives for Human-Centred Development;
• Emerging Technologies and New Forms of Work;
• The World of Work in a Changing Climate;
• Managing Information for Accuracy;
• Decent Work and Global Population Trends;
• Equal Access to Decent Work Opportunities;
• Trade and Investment for More and Better Jobs in Global Supply Chains;

The Summer University features a face-to-face and an online component.

The ITCILO Campus in Turin, Italy, initially welcomes a global cohort of participants for two weeks (29 July – 9 August) of live plenary, elective, and envisioning sessions on topics at the heart of the work of the ILO.

Participants also have the option to attend a mini-series of online, career-coaching webinars for global professionals following up from the face-to-face component of the course.

• Plenary sessions run each morning, Monday to Friday, 9:00-10:30.
• Elective course tracks take place between 11:00-12:30 (Morning Sessions) and 14:00-17:00 (Afternoon Sessions), Tuesday and Wednesday of Week 1 (30-31 July). Participants have the possibility of choosing one elective Morning Session and one Afternoon Session.
• Study visit to Geneva at the ILO Headquarters at the end of Week 1 (1-2 August 2024).
• Envisioning sessions are scheduled for the beginning of Week 2 (6-7 August). Participants attend the envisioning sessions dedicated to the topics explored during the Week 1 elective course tracks, for a total of two envisioning tracks attended per participant.

In conclusion of the envisioning sessions, participants create consensus around the drafts of policy-oriented “Fundamental Considerations” documents (one per elective course track explored) which will be brought to the attention of key ILO stakeholders in preparation for the Summit of the Future 2024.

Located along the banks of the Po River, the ITCILO Turin Campus allows participants to live and study immersed in nature, in a safe and secure environment conducive to learning, exploring, and discovering what the city of Turin has to offer.

• Turin
  Capital of the Italian region of Piedmont just a few kilometers away from France, Switzerland and Italy’s rugged Ligurian coast, Turin stuns global visitors with its unique charm. While featuring a rich history, charming art galleries and a world-renowned enogastronomic tradition, Turin maintains a firm global outlook through its active participation in strategic networks of global sister and friend cities. As testament to its international ties, Turin has been home of the United Nations Campus since 1964, where the ITCILO is located together with the United Nations System Staff College and the UN Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute.
• Geneva
  Week 1 of the Summer University includes a 2-day study visit to Geneva, Switzerland, for participants to explore the headquarters of selected Geneva-based UN agencies including the ILO, international and non-governmental organizations. During the study visit, participants will have the opportunity to not only take a deep-dive in the work of these entities, but also to meet representatives from their HR departments to explore how to best prepare for future employment opportunities in the broader space of multilateralism.
• Nice, Monaco and Venice
  The ITCILO offers Summer University participants the opportunity to sign up for a daytrip to Monte Carlo (Monaco) and Nice (France), or Venice (Italy) for Saturday 3 August 2024. Whether in search of the atmospheres celebrated during the Belle Époque or eager to witness the splendor of the Most Serene Republic (“La Serenissima”), the Summer University features moments of leisure and relax for its participants to enjoy while away from home.

Participants completing all required activities unlock an official ITCILO Certificate of Participation in Digital Credentials Format, which allows for easy sharing (on CVs and digital platforms, e.g., LinkedIn) of their ongoing professional growth and development as Future Leaders in the World of Work.

INTEGRŌ is the global competence development facility for future leaders in the world of work of the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO).
