Communication on migration is increasingly important as migration issues are increasingly the subject of public debate. Whether the topic is forced displacement, labour migration or mobility induced by climate change, no society today is spared polarized and divisive discourse on migration. The COVID-19 crisis has made quality communication on migration even more important as citizens realize the importance of "essential workers", while the rejection of foreigners is a worryingly phenomenon in many countries. This is exacerbated by the fact that the information and communication landscape is itself in upheaval. Infox, social networks and a crisis of confidence undermine the credibility of information sources and force us, collectively, to reinvent the way we communicate. This course will help participants understand the major challenges of communicating on labour migration and identify avenues for better communication, including how to develop an effective communication strategy focused on human rights.
