Beneficiaries

The EOSH course is flexible and offers a multi-tool suite of modules that cuts across several OSH issues applicable to different sectors of activities and different audiences.

The EOSH course is designed to be easily used by Employers’ and Business Member Organizations (EBMOs) for setting up new innovative training services on OSH for their members and to attract new ones.

The ITCILO can adapt the EOSH course to train other entities and organisations, according to their needs, thus contributing to further the ILO mandate to promote health and safety at the work place. These entities can include companies, ministries, institutions and ILO constituents.

For EBMOs

With the EOSH package, EBMOs will be able to launch a service that will benefit them in several ways:

  • Innovative service to members: the EOSH package will enable EBMOs to innovate. With a simple online configurator, they will be able to select the most relevant modules, compose the desired curriculum and have an online EOSH course ready to be rolled out to their members, as a stand-alone online training or in combination with a face-to-face.
  • Consolidating and expanding membership: EBMOs will be able to offer a ready-made high quality service to promote an OSH culture and reinforce complance of their members with local OSH regulations and policies. The EOSH training could be leveraged to retain existing members and to attract new potential ones.
  • Income generation: with a competitive fee per participant, EBMOs can access the EOSH package and have the opportunity to get the ITCILO certificate. EBMOs can then deliver the EOSH training at a cost that will help them generate additional income.
  • Leadership at the national level: by offering a cutting-edge service on EOSH, the EBMOs will be able to show their leadership role in promoting health and safety at work, and they will strengthen their position as a partner to the government in improving working conditions.

EBMOs that are interested in using the package, they have to build their pool of EOSH trainers.

This is done through a training of trainers (ToT) organized by the ITCILO.

The ITCILO course requires:

  • 9 weeks of distance learning, and
  • 5 days of face-to-face training;
  • A final exam;

Only the successful participants will be certified as EOSH trainers. Once they are certified, they can start organizing EOSH training in the framework of the services of their EBMOs.

The trainers will have the possibility to keep their certification for 3 years, as long as they train at least 15 people a year.

At the end of the 3 years, a refresher course will be organised to renew the certificate.

The certification is valid until there is a tie with the EBMO that sent the trainer to the ITCILO ToT. If the tie with the EBMO is no longer present, the certification is revoked and no more EOSH training sessions can be organized by the trainer in question.

The certified trainers in the EBMOs can organize as many courses on EOSH as needed. They can organize their training as an online or blended course, or just face-to-face, with the possibility to get access to the ITCILO examiniation and EOSH certificate for their participants.

The EOSH training will be activated and delivered to their participants using the ITCILO e-campus platform for the EBMOs.

For external clients

There are several advantages linked with the use of the EOSH package:

  • Customizable for its modular content: the ITCILO can customize and adapt the EOSH package to meet the needs of the different target audience, selecting the modules that are more relevant for the request.
  • Flexible in its delivery: the ITCILO can roll out the EOSH package in different ways: it can be delivered as an online self-learning course, as an online training with international OSH experts as tutors, or as a fully-fledged OSH training, combining the online and the face-to-face components (blended approach).
  • International expertise: the EOSH training is offered with a team of experts from the ITCILO and from international specialists on OSH, so that the users can maximise their learning journey and engage with the experts.
  • International Certificate of the ITCILO: the EOSH training benefits from the ITCILO certificate, internationally recognized as developed by the UN Agency specialized in occupational safety and health.
  • Competitive price: the EOSH package is offered at a competitive price that facilitates access to the training and the dissemination of the

For organisations and entities other than employers and business members' organisations (EBMOs), the ITCILO can customise the EOSH package to train OSH supervisors and line managers in companies, in ministries or any other institution interested in enhancing safety and health at work.

The EOSH training can be delivered online, face-to-face or blended, with the possibility to have a final exam and the ITCILO certificate.
