Introduction to the course

The growing impact of migration on the world of work is testing current migration management systems. There is growing concern about the need to better coordinate migration policies with policies governing employment, education and training. This requires cooperation between national education and labour ministries, and with other ministries that have responsibility for migration policy, as well as their counterparts in other countries. This online training course will build and strengthen the capacities of practitioners and policy-makers to design and implement labour migration policies, drawing on tools and instruments for evidence-based policy-making on labour migration. Use will be made of an innovative e-learning platform to foster open policy dialogue between government officials from various ministries and representatives of workers' and employers' organizations, the aim being to promote policy coherence with regard to labour migration at national and regional level. This specialized course enables you to join a virtual global network of labour migration practitioners, flexibly and without needing to travel.
